Imagine you are urgently in need of help in sickness, but nobody is helping you, because you are poor and there is no social network to carry the cost. Unthinkable in central Europe, but sadly widespread in Albania. Many people are unable to afford an expensive prosthesis, a live saving operation or expensive nursing aids, and health insurance regulated by law is not comparable to the guaranteed benefits in Germany.
